There are a few things you need to be aware of before proceeding with the exam:

Workspace and Environment Setup

  • Your computer should fulfill certain technical requirements. Please click here to read more.

  • Sit in a quiet, well-lit, ventilated room where you can take the exam comfortably, alone, and without interruptions.

  • Clear your desk of all unauthorized items such as notes, textbooks, food/beverages, phones, tablets, etc. Your proctor will ask for a 360-degree scan of your room.

  • Make sure your face is clearly visible to the camera. Try to avoid backlighting from windows or lamps behind you.

Identification Verification

  • Have a valid government-issued photo ID ready for verification. You will be asked to take a picture of it with your camera.

  • Your name and photograph should be clearly visible on the ID.

Exam Dos and Don’ts

  • There will be an Exam Instructions video and a Candidate Testing Agreement you need to agree to before proceeding to the exam. Go through them very carefully.

  • Keep your eyes on your screen to avoid looking suspicious. Frequent or prolonged movements away from the screen are not allowed. Discretion may be provided if a your gaze is directed away from the screen, but this changing focus can be regarded as potentially suspicious (depending on rapidity, direction, etc.) and may require additional partial or full room scans to confirm the integrity of the examination space.

  • Do not communicate with others verbally or via electronic devices. This includes text messaging, phone calls, and messaging applications.

  • Avoid using headphones, earbuds, or any other audio devices unless they are explicitly permitted for the exam.

  • Do not leave your seat or the view of the camera.

  • Do not browse the internet or access other computer files or applications other than the exam.
